VOLUNTEER . . .

Help Us Share the Love of History...
BE A VOLUNTEER
Volunteer help is welcome at all four of our museum sites.

Volunteers are an important part of the Collier County Museums: they help to enhance the quality of visits for our guests and provide the creativity and manpower needed to plan and implement our programs and special activities.

As a museum volunteer, you may be able to assist with our educational workshops and lectures, students' programs, group tours, the gift shop, and an ever-changing schedule of special events. Volunteers also assist with historical research, and serve as our official guides at the Old Florida Festival and other annual events. Collectively, this special group of individuals contributes nearly 10,000 hours of service to the Collier County Museums each year.

Our ongoing volunteer needs include:
  • Docent / Tour guides
    - Special-event assistants
    - Public speakers
    - Translators
    - Gardeners
    - Greeters and gift store clerks
    - Fundraising and membership assistants
    - Library and archives assistants
    - Office assistants
  • Committee Member
We'll match your skills and interests to a specific volunteer position or help train you to branch out into new areas. Either way, you'll have the full support and appreciation of the museum and our staff to make your time as a volunteer a fulfilling and rewarding experience.

There are real personal satisfactions in working with friends who share your interest, skills and passion for educating others about our history. If you can spare a few hours of your time a week to help as a volunteer, we'd love to hear from you!

To find out more, please contact the museum's Volunteer Coordinator at (239) 252-8287.

Museum Re-enactor Corps

Man the cannon! Prime your musket! Relive the lifestyle and experience of a Seminole War soldier, a Continental Army private, a Rough Rider, or a GI from the World War II era. Recruits are welcome in the museum's "army" of historical re-enactors and living historians.

We're always looking for a few good men - and women - to put in uniform for the day as costumed interpreters for the museum's "Soldiers of the Past" - a popular and colorful addition to our regular school programs and the Old Florida Festival, and a dignified feature at Naples' Veterans Day and Memorial Day observances each year.

Experience the past for yourself and call the museum's Curator of Education at (239) 252-8242 to learn more about joining up.
